Strive Masiyiwa is a telecommunications and technology entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist. In his nearly four decades as an entrepreneur, he has started and invested in businesses across the world including Africa, the European Union, India, Latin America, the Middle East, New Zealand, the UK, and the USA. Chairman and founder of Econet Group, Strive serves on several international boards including Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and National Geographic Society, and the Global Advisory boards of Bank of America and Stanford University. He is a longstanding member of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum's Standing Committee on Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial. A former board member of the Rockefeller Foundation for 15 years, he is Chair Emeritus of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa and previously served as the African Union Special Envoy for the continent’s COVID response. An International Honorary Member of the Academy of Arts and Sciences, Strive received a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Cardiff and honorary doctorates from Morehouse College, Yale University, Nelson Mandela University and Cardiff University.
